Participants--Fourth, Fifth and sixth grade boys and girls.
Cost--$25.00
Format--Principles of cross country running. Learn the beneficial aspects of aerobic fitness and competition. Emphasis on team comaraderie and fun.
Equipment--T-shirts, shorts, and shoes. T-shirts will be supplied by VAA.
Awards--Awards will be given at the completion of the season.
Season--All sessions will begin at 6:00 p.m. They will last approximately 1 hour. Most sessions will take place at the high school track. Some nights we may meet at a nearby park with trails.
Practice--Administered by high school coaches, lifelong runners, and parent volunteers.
Note: Due to heavy rain we may cancel practice.
Philosophy--Emphasis is on fun, participation, and being able to complete the race distances without being overly concerned with time. Depending on the number of individuals that sign up mixed gender teams may participate against each other in a variety of competitive formats.
